A Flame of Hate...

I am writing this because my heart aches, my spirit inside of me won't quit turning in the midst of such turmoil and unrest that the freedom of America allows. On Tuesday, September 8th Floridian pastor Terry Jones of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida boldly stated to CNN News that his congregation plans on burning the Koran on the day that nine years ago our country was breached from within. What has arisen from this statement of hate is a media-storm, and all out political detrament to the national security of our Nation.

So many prominent figures in America, and around the world, have risen up and spoken out about this so called "Burn-A-Koran-Day", that the fewer than sixty member church is getting more attention than the actual ones who fell on 9/11 deserve. My spirit quakes with part hurt, and part anger. I find myself questioning why a Christian entity would cry all out "holy war" on a group of people that did not ask for this. The last time I read my Bible, and talked to my Creator, I was under the observation that Jesus was a God who poured out grace and mercy upon His children...NOT hate, fire, and brimstone from above.

It boggles my mind that people such as Pastor Jones have the courage to stand before America and the free world and declare something that they have no right declaring. The simple fact is this; Jones is judging the Muslim race, and codemning them by burning there holy book. Now, in the eyes of Christianity, and in my eyes as well, the Muslim relgion is a cult that is separated from the grace and mercy of God. HOWEVER, Jones, his church, and anyone else on earth have no right to codemn and maliciously attack a religion solely because they believe that they are the one benefactor of the attacks on our hollowed soil nine years ago.

Deuteronomy 32:35 - "To me belongeth vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste."

What the Dove World Outreach Center is fully bent on creating is a war that God has no part of of. Nothing good can be created out of this situation. The freedoms that countless lives have been sacrificed for are now being taken advantage of by so-called "believers" of the Word of God. Did these men and women of combat die in vain for religious believers to cause turmoil in the Middle East? Have they not thought through the ramifications of their outward act of religious violence? And how different is it that they, by burning the Koran, are creating in the Muslims a deepert hate for America ? It is self-evident to anyone who watches the National and world news on a daily basis that the Muslim races dislikes, and I would go as far to say that they despise Americans. We don't have to get along, but we also do not have to go and create that much more dissent between the two.

Imagine with me the fact that the Muslims held a "burn the Bible day" during one of their yearly Jihads....can you imagine the ramifications from the prominent religious leaders in our world today? What would Jones' church do then? I imagine they would retaliate much like a immature child and do the same thing they are now, but its not the action, its the PRINCIPLE. It's the principle of love. "Love one another, as you love yourself." It makes me question in my Spirit if Jones and his followers have the love of God in them...I believe the answer is no. Because if they did, their message would not involve hate, and malevolent intentions.....

Nonetheless the bottom line is this; their message speaks malicious intentions, and instills in secular America deeper yet the founding thought that the whole of Christianity is a joke, and a religion of oppression and judgement....my heart breaks as I write this because this is not the Christianity that I have been saved by. And furthermore, this is NOT the Christianity that I place my alliance to. My Christianity, and my relationship with the Almighty is one of love, grace, and respect. Jesus loved unconditionally amidst his adversaries as they nailed Him to the cross, He turned his other cheek and forgave them...He was humble, He was gentle, and hanging there for the entire world to see, He poured out His grace and mercy to those He created....

This whole situation is being executed in disrespect and dishonor to the price that my Savior paid on the cross.....but nonetheless I love these people amidst their ill judgements, and just like Jesus said on the cross...."Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do...."
