AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE
C. M. SHOCKLEY
AUGUST 2006
The seeds have been sown it is time to reap
Our fathers are dead and the children weep.
They weep for their spirit, lost in the East.
Why America, has your singing ceased?
Reds of the rocket,
And burst of the bomb.
Are choking your voice
Choking your song.
Our sons are at war you sent them to fight,
Your silence, your song, you darken the light,
The cries of the people, you do now ignore.
Why, America do you sing no more?
You sang of the free.
You sang of the brave.
But now you sing not,
You sing of your grave.
Take heed America, you are deceived,
Your kings are filled with much malice and greed.
Their tongues birth lies and inspires dissent.
Their eyes hide darkness and wicked intent.
In God you once trusted,
But now turned aside.
Of many was one,
But that oneness has died.
They reign from the houses, with blood – stained hands.
Across the Earth their tyranny expands.
You gave them their power and yet do naught,
Sing out your fury, as our fore fathers taught.
I sing of your dreams,
Of your dying song,
Our children grow week,
But they stay ever strong.
Sing out your song and do not let it end.
Our futures and freedoms we must defend.
Remember your purpose.
Recall your cause,
Ignore the leaders.
Disregard the laws.
Indivisible,
Under God,
We must be once more.
Our liberty we need to restore.
Stand together and let your voices ring,
Cast out your kings and hear the children sing.
They will sing of your dream and of your unity,
Sing of America, the Land of opportunity.
America, America, the land of the brave,
Forever in peace may your strong flag wave.
High above the mountains, it quickly flows.
And the children’s young voices echoes and echoes.
This is America the Home of the Brave
Forever in peace may your strong flag wave.
